As I’m a big (6’6″ 257 lb) 63 yr outdated avid bicycle owner, I can not climb like I used to, so I drop from my traditional B teams. Now the CREO helps me stick with the group on climbs. I often don’t use energy in any other case, as I can nonetheless match energy on the flats and rollers and on downhills… No worries! As I transfer on in life, I’ll most probably improve the usage of energy. However there isn’t any free experience on the bike, as it’s nearly 12 kg (26.5 lbs), so you continue to need to work to stick with the group!

Final phrases?
My cause for buying this bike is straightforward. As I get a bit older, and I can not experience and practice as I did 20 years in the past, my capacity to maintain up with youthful, smaller cyclists is diminishing. I’m nonetheless sturdy sufficient to stick with the (B) group on flats and rollers. Downhill, for sure, I can stick with most anybody. BUT… as soon as the grade passes 3 – 4%, gravity takes over. When you keep in mind E=mc2? Properly, I’m the ‘m’. So uphill, I get dropped like a sizzling potato. Having the Creo permits me a little bit of assist to stick with the group, so they don’t have to attend for me on the prime. Don’t get me improper: I nonetheless need to work. That is an e-assist bike. No free experience. Cease pedaling, and also you cease shifting. So the work is there, however simply sufficient energy to assist me up the hill with my HR staying round 130 – 140 bpm, which retains me from burning out my legs. And I hope it lets me experience with my buddies into my 70’s.

So there you’ve got it: My present experience, Romulus, is a good bike for folk identical to me… I LOVE it! I nonetheless experience my common street bike, however I do experience my Creo loads.
